Your Account

If you use our website, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password and for restricting access to your computer to prevent unauthorised access to your account.  You agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account or password.  You should take all necessary steps to ensure that the password is kept confidential and secure and should inform us immediately if you have any reason to believe that your password has become known to anyone else, or if the password is being, or is likely to be, used in an unauthorised manner.

Please ensure that the details you provide us with are correct and complete, and inform us immediately of any changes to the information you provided when registering.  You can access and update much of the information you provided us with in the 'My Account' area of the website.

We reserve the right to refuse access to the website, terminate accounts, remove or edit content, or cancel orders at our discretion.

We will do our utmost to ensure that availability of the website will be uninterrupted and that transmissions will be error-free.  However, due to the nature of the Internet, this cannot be guaranteed.  Also, your access to the website may also be occasionally suspended or restricted to allow for repairs, maintenance, or the introduction of new facilities or services.  We will attempt to limit the frequency and duration of any such suspension or restriction.

Payments, pricing & availability


We currently accept payment by credit/debit card or by PayPal account.

The card types we currently accept (via Stripe) are: Visa, Visa Debit, Visa Electron, MasterCard, Maestro and American Express.

Credit/debit card payments and bank transfer (BACS) payments are accepted for all orders, worldwide.


All prices on the website are shown in GBP (Great British Pounds) / £ sterling. We do not currently charge VAT.

If you are an international customer and are not completely sure how much your order will cost, we suggest you use a currency converter such as, for peace of mind, before placing your Gifty Gadgety order.

Despite our best efforts, very occasionally, a small number of the hundreds of products in our catalogue may be mispriced.  Rest assured, however, that prices are verified as part of our dispatch process.  If a product's correct price is lower than our stated price, we charge the lower amount and send you the product.  If a product's correct price is higher than our stated price, we will, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions before dispatch or cancel your order and notify you of the cancellation.


We aim to list current availability information for products sold by us on on each product information page of the website.  Beyond what we say on that page or otherwise on the website, we cannot be more specific about availability.

Please note that dispatch estimates are just that.  They are not guaranteed dispatch times and should not be relied upon as such.  As we process your order, we will inform you by email if any products you order turn out to be unavailable.

Terms of delivery

Electric Planet LLP is based on the Isle of Wight, England, UK.  We deliver gifts, gadgets and exciting lighting products all over the world from our warehouse in Cowes.

Please ensure that the Billing Address you specify is the exact address that your credit or debit card is registered to - not necessarily your delivery address.  If your Billing Address does not match your card details, your order may be significantly delayed or impossible to process.

Please note that while items sent via Royal Mail services usually arrive within 2-5 working days for mainland UK orders, 3-5 working days for UK non-mainland orders, and 5-7 working days for international orders, the Royal Mail stipulates that only items undelivered after 15 working days, for UK parcels, and 21 days, for international parcels, can be officially classified as lost.

Once an order has been dispatched, delivery is handled by a 3rd party company.  While we will do our best to investigate and resolve any delivery problems, we cannot accept liability for delays caused by external companies or events beyond our reasonable control.

Nor can we accept responsibility for delivery problems when a customer has provided us with an incorrect or incomplete delivery address.  Please enter your details carefully and double check them before submitting your order.  Your delivery details will be listed in the 'Order Confirmation' email you will receive from us, so please contact us immediately if there are any errors or omissions.

Should you happen to miss your delivery, the postman or courier will leave you a card enabling you to rearrange delivery or to collect your package from your local depot or sorting office.  In this event, please contact the Royal Mail or the relevant courier company before contacting us since we have no control over parcels in transit.  It is your responsibility to contact the courier in a timely manner.  Failure to collect an undelivered package can result in it being 'returned to sender' (usually after 7 days for a courier and 18 days for Royal Mail).  This is Royal Mail/courier policy, not ours.  If this happens, we cannot resend the parcel without charging a supplementary delivery charge.

If a package is returned to us because it has not been collected, or because the delivery company has not been contacted, we will only refund the amount of the order less all packaging and delivery costs.

Please be aware that deliveries to destinations outside the EU may be subject to local import taxes, which are your responsibility where they apply.  When this is the case, the delivery company should advise you of the charges due.  You should be able to learn more from your local customs office.  We cannot advise you what these charges may be and Gifty Gadgety is not responsible for them.  Nor can we exercise any control over an extended transit time in the event that a customs authority decides to spot check your Gifty Gadgety parcel.

Timescales shown for delivery services denote approximate time 'in transit' - i.e. once orders have been dispatched.  We aim to despatch all orders within 24 hrs.  You will receive a dispatch notification email when your order has been dispatched.

Please be aware that our stated delivery timescales are estimates based on experience and our delivery partners' guidelines.

Orders can take longer to arrive during busy periods (e.g. pre-Christmas, New Year, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day etc).  We suggest you purchase from Gifty Gadgety early enough to prevent any loss or disappointment resulting from a slower-than-expected delivery service since we cannot take responsibility for this.

Please note:  we cannot normally deliver orders to PO Box addresses.

Returns & refunds

We're confident you'll be delighted with your Gifty Gadgety purchase.   However, if you wish to return an item to us we have a generous 30-day extended returns policy for your convenience and peace of mind.

If for any reason you're not completely happy with your Gifty Gadgety purchase, you can return it to us in its original condition within 30 days of the date you received the item, unopened, with any product packaging intact, and we will issue a refund for the price you paid for the item.

We ask that you contact us using our email form before sending anything back to us as we cannot accept any returns that are not first approved by our Support Team and/or do not have a valid Returns Authorisation Code.

Please select the subject relevant to you.

Your message should include the following information:

  • Your order number (found on the sales receipt in your parcel)
  • The product(s) in question
  • The date you purchased from us
  • Your daytime telephone number
  • The reason you wish to return the item(s)
  • The nature of the fault (if applicable)

Our Support Team will respond, by email, as soon as possible - usually within 48hrs.  They will provide you with your unique Returns Authorisation Code and advise you how and where to send the product(s).  Your returned item must then be received by us within 7 days.

Please note: we are unable to accept returns in person at our office or warehouse.

Faulty Goods

Where possible, we test products prior to dispatch and we always ensure orders are adequately packed to obviate damage in transit.  However, in the unlikely event that an item arrives damaged, with defects, or turns out to be genuinely faulty, we will replace it free of charge.  Where a like-for-like replacement cannot be provided (e.g. if the item is no longer in stock) we will provide a full refund.

Important: If your parcel has clearly been damaged in transit, or appears damaged when opened, please let us know within 48hrs and, if possible, take a photograph to document the condition of the packaging before you open it.  This will enable us to hold the delivery company accountable where relevant and provide you with a replacement as quickly and efficiently as possible.

If you feel an item is defective, please contact us within 30 days of receipt.  If we cannot provide you with advice and/or replacement parts in order to solve the problem, we will issue you with a Returns Authorisation Code.  Once this code has been provided you have 7 days to return the item/order to the address specified.  Unauthorised returns and returns received outside the above timescales cannot be processed and will be rejected.

Where the returned item(s) are found to be genuinely faulty, replacement(s) or a full refund (including the delivery charge) will be issued within 7 days of receipt.  When we require the item(s) to be returned to us, we will also refund your return postage (standard services only).

Please note:  any item returned as faulty that shows evidence of tampering or, after testing, is found to be in normal working order, will not be eligible for replacement or refund.  In this instance, we will email you with our decision before returning the item to you.

Certain product faults may be adequately rectified by the replacement of specific parts or components.  We reserve the right to provide replacement parts - rather than whole items - in these circumstances.  For example, on the rare occasions when EL T-shirts fail to illuminate, nine times out of ten the problem can be solved by replacing the detachable battery pack, rather than the T-shirt itself or the EL panel.  This policy enables us to remedy this type of problem without incurring unnecessary cost for either party (since you then would not need to post the shirt back to us).

If an item purchased from us shows a fault outside the 30 day period please contact us and we'll do our best to help or advise.

Unwanted Goods

If you wish to return an item because of a change of heart, an error on your part, or because you are unhappy with a product you have purchased from us, it can be returned within 30 days of the date on which you received it.  We will issue a refund (excluding the delivery charge) providing our Returns Policy guidelines are followed.

Please note:  we cannot offer exchanges for alternative products, sizes or variations.

Once you have been allocated a Returns Authorisation Code, as with faulty products (see above), you must return the item/order to the specified Returns address within 7 days.  Unauthorised returns and returns received outside the above timescales cannot be processed and will be rejected.

Important:  Returned items must arrive in an unused and (preferably unopened) 'as sent' condition complete with original product packaging and inclusive of any accessories and instructions.

If, after inspection, the product(s) is found to be in a fully resaleable condition, we will issue a refund (minus the delivery charge) in the same form of payment used for your initial purchase - usually within 7 days of receipt of the returned item(s).

Items returned to us in an unsatisfactory, non-resaleable condition do not qualify for a refund.

Please note:  we cannot be held responsible for returned items lost or damaged in transit - they remain your responsibility until they reach us.  We recommend that all returned items are adequately wrapped and packed to minimise the likelihood of damage enroute.  We also suggest that items are sent via a recorded delivery service.  However, it is not necessary to return items(s) via a premium or 'next day' express courier service as these methods will incur you unnecessary costs and will not result in your return being processed more quickly.

When ordering goods from for delivery overseas you may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once the package reaches the specified destination.  Any additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be.  Customs policies vary widely from country to country, so you should contact your local customs office for further information.  Additionally, please note that when ordering from, you are considered the 'importer of record' and must comply with all laws and regulations of the country in which you are receiving the goods.

Your privacy is important to us and we know that you care about how information about your order is used and shared.  We would like our international customers and customers dispatching products internationally to be aware that cross-border deliveries are subject to opening and inspection by customs authorities.

WEEE regulations

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive is now UK law.  The legislation aims to make producers pay for the collection, treatment and recovery of waste electrical equipment.   The regulations also mean that suppliers of equipment such as high street shops and internet retailers must allow consumers to return their waste equipment free of charge.

The amount of WEEE we throw away is increasing by around 5% each year, making it the fastest growing waste stream in the UK.

Much of the UK WEEE ends up in landfill, where the lead and other toxins it contains can cause soil and water contamination.  This can have a harmful effect on natural habitat, wildlife and also human health.

Many electrical items that we throw away can be repaired or recycled.  Recycling items helps to save our natural finite resources and also reduces the environmental and health risks associated with sending electrical goods to landfill.

Distributors of new Electric and Electronic Equipment (EEE) have a part to play in reducing the amount of WEEE going into landfill sites.

Electric Planet trading as is obliged under these regulations to offer our customers free take-back of their WEEE on a like-for-like basis when they buy a new electrical or electronic product from us.

For example, if you buy a new lava lamp from us, we will accept your old lava lamp and prevent it going into a landfill site by disposing of it safely and appropriately.  You must return your WEEE item to us within 28 days of purchasing your new item from us.  You are responsible for your own postage costs.

Under the WEEE Regulations, all new electrical goods should now be marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol (right).

Goods are marked with this symbol to show that they were produced after 13th August 2005, and should be disposed of separately from normal household waste so that they can be recycled.

When you visit or send emails to us, you are communicating with us electronically.  We communicate with you by email or by posting notices on the website.  For contractual purposes, you consent to receive communications from us electronically and you agree that all agreements, notices, disclosures and other communications that we provide to you electronically satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.  This condition does not affect your statutory rights.
